One of the designers’ favorite prints, the Hammamat origin story travels back more than a century. While working from a vintage skirt finished with lace, the BOKJA team repeatedly superimposed the print before incorporating layers of leftover fabrics from the brand’s atelier. The results all depend on the cut. The Hammamat skirt, for example, takes on tiers. Featuring an ikat base, the skirt is then layered with more and more lace, more and more ruffles, resulting in a 3D, architectural quality.
